Essential Packing

You must bring a four-season sleeping bag rated to -15°C (5°F) or lower. Teahouse bedrooms are unheated and reach freezing temperatures at night. Micro-spikes are necessary, as trails to Tilicho Lake and Thorong La frequently hold icy patches.

Protect yourself from extreme sun and wind. Pack a windproof outer shell, a heavy down jacket, and category 3 or 4 sunglasses. Bring water purification tablets, as bottled water becomes scarce and expensive at high altitudes.
